Welcome to Johannesburg, the commercial capital of South Africa, a city built on gold. And while Jo’burg or Jozi as the locals affectionately calls her, may have been built on the discovery of gold, finding out what to do with your 2-year old, will seem like searching for golddust. Just less rewarding.
Although my husband is a native of the city, living here with a young family presented a few challenges when we returned from a few years’ exile in the Free State. The aim of this site is to gather more information about kid-friendly venues and events in and around the city. Hopefully this will make it easier for some harassed parent trying to figure out what to do faced with an endless day and a couple of rugrats.
My family is still a young family so the information here will primarily find resonance with parents of younger children (I hope) . Please add comments and information that you feel will be of use to others.
